The competition watched by the whole industry - 13th edition!

Every year, 10 SESAMES Awards are presented to the best projects in various categories. The Sesames represent an unchallenged seal of approval in innovation  and are regarded as  global standards for card manufacturers and related industries. They represent a real promotional springboard and give the winners a reputation and credibility guaranteeing their project’s success.

The competition was open to all innovative projects in the relevant sectors and consistently attracts more candidates every year. 233 applications were filed this year for 10 awards.

Selected by a panel of experts, the Awards are presented at a prestigious ceremony held in Paris, on the eve of the opening of CARTES & IDentification.

10 awards were given to the most innovative products

SESAME HARDWARE

Awarded to the best and most innovative card, token, chip, electronic component, terminal, automaton, reader, manufacturing / printing material, etc., representing a genuine breakthrough in the card industry bringing significant benefits to potential users. The entries may concern projects, prototypes or products already on the market.

SESAME SOFTWARE

This category aims to promote a sector that lies upstream of the market: software which can be an operating system, multiapplication, software for access management, algorithm, programming system, card management system, test or audit tool.

SESAME PER APPLICATION

8 applications will be received awards, one in each of the following major sectors:

• IDENTIFICATION (biometrics, RFID, physical control access, identity management)
• IT SECURITY (logical control access, electronic signature, PKI architecture)
• TRANSPORTATION (public and private transports, fleet management)
• BANKING/FINANCE/RETAIL
• HEALTH CARE
• MOBILE (MtoM, GSM, GPRS, UMTS, mcommerce...)
• e-TRANSACTIONS (secure electronic transactions, e-government, virtual payment)
• CUSTOMER LOYALTY

A unique showcase for innovative products and applications

The contest is a unique opportunity for the candidates to showcase their enthusiasm and their achievements to almost 20,000 professionals and 200 journalists attending from over 140 countries, all on the lookout for new products in this market.

SESAMES Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday November 3rd, 2008 in a prestigious place, setting in the center of Paris, with over 400 attendees (exhibitors, visitors, VIP, journalists).

A presentation of the nominees and the winners will be located in the SESAMES Area in the exhibit hall, which attracts a large number of visitors.

From Tuesday November 4, a detailed presentation of the winners will be available on the show web site.
